Poppies, encaustic painting

I love it when you run across a patch of wild growing flowers in the forest. I’m not sure how poppies managed to make it to this altitude on their own, but I suspect a bird was involved. This encaustic painting made use of natural beeswax and pigment along with graphite and my personal handmade gesso recipe. A wonderful couple from Toronto now own it.
