This was inspired by black and white photo of my sister taken while visiting the Gulf Coast near Port Aransas, Texas. The original photo had the figure impossibly faraway.(Nothing like an old fixed lens Brownie camera) So I enlarged and embellished her in my mind based more on the memory than the photo. I must have been on to something, because she told me later she was amazed I could remember the colors of her outfit. Amazed me, too. I used natural beeswax and pigment along with my personal handmade crackling gesso recipe. The original painting is currently in the collection of Kyra Wines in Moses Lake, Washington.
