The original encaustic paintings are made with beeswax and pigment using both classic encaustic methods and unique techniques I have developed over the past decade creating encaustic art. The ground is my own custom gesso recipe on 3/4" birch panel.

Etched and pigmented lines cut into a graphite coating which was painstakingly applied one stroke at a time so that the richness of the black would take on a velvety texture and gain depth from which the figure could appear and float against the ethereal clouds produced by the beeswax. The original encaustic painting measures 12x12" and is available at Galerie Gora in Monreal, Quebec.
