The original encaustic paintings are made with beeswax and pigment using both classic encaustic methods and unique techniques I have developed over the past decade creating encaustic art. The ground is my own custom gesso recipe on 3/4" birch panel.

The original encaustic painting measures 24x24". This painting was an important turning point in my work with encasutic not only with allowing the paint more freedom to work, but with the invention of my gesso formula suddenly white space was more than just white. Now it held depth and texture along with gradation.
